8000 Polyphenols’ Advantages
What are polyphenols?
Polyphenols constitute a category of natural organic compounds, predominantly located in plants, distinguished by the existence of multiple phenol structural units. Despite polyphenols having a longer history of interest, dedicated and systematic exploration of their nutraceutical aspects became more prominent in the latter part of the 20th century and has continued to evolve in the 21st century.
Polyphenols are the universal army of health soldiers. They are a class of organic compounds with antioxidant properties found in most plants. The main categories include flavonoids, phenolic acids, stilbenes, and lignans.
Fun fact: There are more than 8,000 varieties of polyphenols.
Polyphenols don’t play a role in plant growth, development, or reproduction. Instead, their purpose is to provide protection against ultraviolet radiation and the influence of pathogens. Additionally, polyphenols contribute to the color, taste, smell, and oxidation state of plant foods.
Oxidation, a natural process where cells interact with oxygen, leads to the formation of free radicals when the human body uses oxygen to produce energy. While free radicals play essential roles in cellular reactions and the immune system, an excessive amount can lead to oxidative stress, associated with the risk of cellular structure damage and premature aging. To counteract free radicals, the body requires antioxidants, primarily obtained from food. Therefore we offer polyphenols – your key solution to health and longevity.
Health effects of polyphenols
Due to their antioxidant properties, polyphenols can limit oxidative damage associated with aging and degenerative diseases. Consumption of a diet rich in polyphenols may reduce the risk of age-related diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, gastrointestinal diseases, type 2 diabetes, and more.
Microbiota health
The intestinal microbiota relies on plant-based food as its primary source of nutrition. The polyphenols in these foods serve as a favorite treat for beneficial bacteria, promoting their multiplication. Up to 95% of the polyphenols you consume remain undigested in the colon, where gut bacteria break them down.
Polyphenols act as prebiotics, fostering the growth of beneficial bacteria like Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus, which, in turn, inhibit the proliferation of harmful bacteria. Another bacterium influenced by polyphenols is Akkermansia muciniphila, residing on the inner surface of intestinal walls and contributing to the production of a protective mucous layer.
Polyphenols can do many valuable things for human health. Here are their main functions:
- They feed the beneficial intestinal microflora (Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus), which affects the functioning of all parts of the metabolism.
- They promote the development of a special beneficial bacterium Akkermansia muciniphila. It helps produce a mucous layer in the intestines, which is important for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome and serious inflammatory pathologies Polyphenols stimulate the proliferation of these bacteria. And the higher their representation, the higher the protection against the development of ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease and type 2 diabetes.
- They reduce the risk of developing cancer cells and prevent the creation of a blood network around tumors.
- Protect the skin from the aggression of solar ultraviolet radiation.
- They keep the concentration of free radicals within normal limits, which leads to many positive effects:
- Slowing down aging and reducing systemic age-related inflammation;
- Protection against degenerative age-related losses in intelligence;
- Harmony in carbohydrate metabolism and prevention of type 2 diabetes and obesity;
- Slowing down the development of vascular atherosclerosis and normalizing blood pressure.
Daily requirement of polyphenols to stay healthy
You need 400-500 grams of fresh organic vegetables, fruits and berries or 10-15 drops of our products or both every day. If you can’t provide your body fresh organic vegetarian food, use 10-15 drops of our products. Our team designed a transdermal system that, when combined with polyphenols, enhances their penetration through the skin into the circulatory system. This enables them to impact various bodily systems, including cardiovascular, respiratory, muscular, and cognitive functions, ultimately enhancing overall performance.
We want you be healthy, look younger and your cognitive functions will be perfect.
